Black Funeral--Scourge Of  Lamashtu cd,lp{Iron Bonehead Rec.}
Legendary U.S black metal band Black Funeral return with a new recording continuing their black metal and ambient style.Scourge Of Lamashtu contains seven tracks of well composed black metal with some extremely well performed ambient passages.The music is performed with mainly mid paced music that is composed with some well written and performed musicial passages similar to the mid 90's black metal.
The vocals are grim black metal screams and some gruff,deeper growls used in some of the tracks.
This is my first encounter with Black Funeral since their debut many years ago but if you are a fan of occult black metal with ambient elements theen do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of Scourge Of Lamashtu when it is released in early July.

Canada's Versifist have teamed up with the U.S label Humanitys Plague to release a compilation with the bands three EP's on one cd.Versifist play an extremely fast black metal with a lot of thrash metal influences entertwined into the music.
The guitars are played with crazed and furious guitar passages that are chaotic but played with a lot of skill.The guitars are played with some slower mid paced guitar passages.
The vocals are grim black metal screams and screeches that fit Versifist's musicial approach perfectly.
If you are a fan of early AngelCorpse,Destroyer666 and such then be sure to pick this release up today you will not be disappointed.

Cursed Be Thy Flesh is a new black metal band with members coming out of both the U.S and Slovenia scenes.The Ritual is the bands debut full-length featuring ten tracks of well composed and crafted black metal.The guitars are played with a lot of skill and expierenced guitar passages.The guitar work has a mix of well executed fast guitar patterns but does slow to a more controlled mid paced range in some of the songs.The vocals are a mix of grim black metal screams and some deeper death metal growls.Both vocal styles fit Cursed Be Thy Flesh's music perfectly.

Coming out of Kentucky's blackend death metal scene is Fornicus with their newest release Sulphuric Omnipotence.The music on the new release shows the band continuing with their blackend death metal style from previous releases only going a more straight forward and destructive sound and style.The guitars are played with extremely fast and some heavier guitar patterns are mixed into the music.The guitarist does write and perform some well written guitar patterns even adding in some well played guitar solo's.The vocals are a mix of demoic death growls and some raspy high pitched black metal screams.
If you are a fan of destructive and intense blackend death metal then do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of Sulphuric Omnipotence when it is available.
