Abhorrency--Climax Of Disgusting Impurities LP{Sentient Ruin} Done on 9-23-23

Coming out of California's bestial blackend death war metal scene is Abhorrency. The debut full length Climax Of Disgusting Impurities is getting a vinyl release through Sentient Ruin.Devestating and barbaric war metal is what the band performs and does it well. The guitars are played with a mix of heavy and crushing mid paced riffs and some insanely fast paced patterns to give the songs their own identy. The guitarist does a good job with both the more fast paced and mid paced playing both with skill. The drumming is top notch with insanely fast and chaotic drum  passages. The drummer does slow to a more controlled paced with some heavier mid paced drum passages. The vocals  are ferocious death metal growls that are low in the delievery. If you are a fan of chaotic and bestial blackend death war metal then i highly recomend checking out  Abhorrency today you will not be disapointed.                      Sentient Ruin                                                                                                                                                http://sentientruin.com/                                                                                                                                  https://sentientruin.bandcamp.com/album/climax-of-disgusting-impurities                                                https://www.facebook.com/SentientRuin                                                                                                      https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7ZyzClXkP-mg6aR9CCi-4Q

Interview with Sturmtiger posted on 9-9-23

1. Hello, please introduce yourselves to the readers.

PB: Greetings, we are Sturmtiger and we have been playing various forms of violent martial metal for the last 20 years.

2. Sturmtiger was started in 2003 what gave you the idea to start this band? And what is it that keeps you motivated to keep creating destructive and good Metal over the years?

PB: VJ and JS started the band in provincial Denmark because they wanted to play killer metal and there was no one else playing anything decent. Making metal is a calling in life and a great addiction to have. Apart from the musical side, it is also a way to channel your philosophical ideas and worldview to the world.

3. What is the current lineup of the band? How would you best describe Sturmtiger's music and how has it changed over the years?

PB: VJ – Guitars, SB – Bass, BL – Drums and PB – vocals. The band started off as a thrashy black metal band, went through a short phase of primitive war metal and plays an amalgam of evil old thrash, war metal and death metal, coupled with philosophical lyrics about war and history “Martial Death Metal” is probably a good description.

4.Transcendent Warfare is the bands newest full length how long did it take the band to write the music for the new release? How long does it usually take to complete one song?

PB: The writing of this new album was a matter of years. Some of the songs were written in quick succession and some were gradually and meticulously developed. We do not write any throwaway music just to fill space, every song has to be as good as possible, which is probably why it took so much time between the albums. We already have the beginning of the material for the next one, and we will work hard to perhaps shorten the time before the next release without sacrificing quality.

5. What are the lyrics about on the new release? Which usually comes first the music or the lyrics?

PB: The music always comes first, these are musical compositions, not “songs” as such. Vocals in the extreme forms of metal are complementary to the drums and guitars, not the other way around, and serve to add “life” to the sound. We do take the lyrics very seriously though, especially for this release. They deal with the philosophy of war, imperialism, our bleak and nihilistic worldview and the experience of war and combat, in all of its horror, glory and animalistic bloodlust. Those who have fallen in combat for their land or their cause are also always honoured in our lyrics in various forms.

6. Besides the new release Transcendent Warfare are the bands previous releases still available for the readers to purchase? Besides physical releases, does the band have any other merchandise currently available, and if you do, what is available and where can the readers buy it?

PB: We have plenty of different stuff available, with 3 different shirt designs, patches, posters and hoodies and badges coming up. I would suggest that our supporters either order from us directly if they are in the United Kingdom, or look at the list of distros on our site so they can order from a place closer to them to save on postage costs. We are not concerned with monetary gain, what is important to us is that as many of the right metal maniacs as possible hear our message.

7. What have been some of Sturmtiger's most memorable shows over the years? Who have been some of your favorite bands to share the stage with?

PB: Playing with the mighty Goatpenis was a great honour for us, as well as classic bands like Vulcano and Master. Our latest shows with me as a separate vocalist where I am not rooted to the spot with my bass in front of the mike have been far more intense, and the quality of our performances is obviously better with everyone concentrating on one instrument.

8.Are there any shows or tours planned in support of the new release? If yes, where is the band playing?

PB: We are always planning or playing shows, even though we take relatively long breaks sometimes. You can’t always find the right shows that fit our style and the ideas we put forth in our music. We are planning a European tour, hopefully for next year, or at least a series of appearances at selected gigs and festivals.

9. What does Underground Metal mean to you?

PB: For me, it is the ultimate form of musical sensation that also affects me on a spiritual level and touches upon some primordial urge for darkness and violence. One of its most important values is that any commercial concerns are completely ignored and that the music channels the unfettered and full intent of the musicians.

10.Besides working in Sturmtiger do you or any of the members currently work with any other bands or solo projects? If yes please tell the readers a little about them?

PB: BL has a great blackthrash project called Scutum Crux, with unusual imagery and lyrics that channel his unique personal philosophies. We also play, or have played at various times in the old UK outlaw deathrash band Necrosadistic Goat Torture, infamous for its intense live shows that the recorded output never reflected properly. There are other projects we are involved in that are at relatively early stages as well as bands we played in in the past.

11.Sturmtiger was originally from Denmark but re located to the U.K when did you decide to relocate to England?

PB: VJ went to guitar school in London in the early 2000s and then went back to Denmark. In around 2007 he came back to the UK and started recruiting a new lineup, which started with him and me as a studio project and soon evolved into a full live band.

12. When you need to take a break from working on new music or band business what do you like to do in your free time?

PB: Obviously, we all listen to underground metal and extreme music of all kinds. VJ is into history and is busy with his houseboat, SB travels a lot and probably spends more time practicing his instrument than any of us, BL studies occult and extra-sensory praxes, while I read history, sci-fi and political philosophy of all kinds.
