The Witch interview done by Namtaru Posted on 4-29-23

This is Namtaru Axarcuth reporting from Philadelphia PA, today we are speaking with Jay from the band The Witch hailing from Colombia.

1.) Hails brother! Can you give us a description of how you came up with the bands name and what it's meaning is to you?

Hey namtar, hails man and thanks for inviting me for this interview…

The Witch sums up the essence of our music, witchcraft through music. It was the first name that came to mind, we agreed it was right.

2.) What is the concept of your lyrical writings? Do you follow the same concepts? Or is there a different theme to each song?

I write about many different themes … the darker the better… we have songs about witchcraft, magic, rituals… I also love history, so many tracks tell stories of dark historical characters or of darker bygone times….. we recently released Tortured Tales and Psychotic Symphonies on 12”, which deals more with mental illness, dark psychiatry and suicide.

3.) How is the scene in Colombia, I know there's some good bands down there but how would you describe it as a whole?

Colombia is a rich melting pot of some of the very best bands and many different styles of Black Metal, death Metal and Grindcore…. Here, the scene is very old, active since the late 80s … so we have a combination of established giants like Esbbat, Mysteriis, Espectrum, Nastrond, Infernal,Typhon, Tzelmoth, too many to mention…. And upcoming bands, like Unholy Dart, Perventor, Desolacion Nocturna, Legion Wicca…

4.) How many members do you have in the band?

2 core members, myself on guitars, vocals bass and synth and sometimes drums, and the unholy Carlo Quiceno, who does synth, drums, production and sometimes guitar… We have various diabolical female vocalists who record with us depending on their availability at the time of recording….

5.) Do you think you would ever consider playing out live?

No, I hate it. I really detest large groups of people.and also small groups of people. And people in general hahaha.

6.)Can you tell the readers how many releases you currently have and the names of each release?

We’ve been pretty active with recording since 2020, and the pandemic really helped with that, solitude is truly teh most productive médium. We’ve also been very foryunate in having great support from amny labels and other abnds around the world and been fortunate enough to participate with bands from europe, Asia, africa , europe and the americas…. According to metal archives, thsi i sour full discography, but I’m sure they’ve missed a couple.. I’ve probably forgotten a couple too to be honest haha

7.) I know you have your own label Masters Of Kaos Productions and we release many things together with my label Plague Demon Records, would you like to tell the readers what is in store for the upcoming releases on your label? Or are you keeping it secret until it gets closer to each release?

We have some great releases in store for 2023… first, we’ve just released Namtaru’s first anthology with your label and Chuck’s… and we’re looking forward to the second installment….

We’re releasing the new Abused Majesty(Poland) álbum in June, a special vinyl and tape reléase, no CD….

We have some great 7”s coming too, most notably a double 7” collector’s edition for Norwegian Bm legends Vulture Lord.. also a very special reléase for Heathen Deity from UK….

We’ve also just released our first collection of 12”s and some 12” pic discs..

We’re going grind too this year, with some sickness coming from Forense, Agathocles and Blood….

Expect the unexpected…

8.) Give me your top 10 metal influences of all time

Oooo thats a bastard to answer….. I’ll have to take5mins , drink a beer and think about that one….

Ok.. 1 Black Sabbath… i grew up in the Uk and ozzy was an ever present blackened shroud in my early days….

2 Iron Maiden… killers, on tape, was one of the first metal albums i ever bought

3 the doors(not metal i know, but relevant) My father was a massive fan and i think i knew all the lyrics by heart at 10 years old… the raw darkness and passion in his words and the music has never been matched

4 slayer show no mercy, 12”, also one of my first récords… opened my eyes and ears to a darker realm

5 Paradise Lost i was big on doom early 90s, and PL was perhaps the first one, Gothic… nice and depressing

6 My Dying Bride Again, early 90s doom.. I love the violins in the early stuff.. I guess that’s where the strings come from in our music

7 Bathory same as Slayer, opened my eyes and ears to a darker realm

8 Cradle Of Filth As I said, I grew up in Uk and as a 13 year old kid Cradle was something new… I used to bango ut the demo and teh first álbum 24 / 7at full volumen, and i still do

9 Carcass As i said, I grew up in Uk and grind was a staple in my youth…. Bill Steer, along with Jesse pintado, was one of my guitar heros as a kid

10 I honestly can’t think of anymore hahaa I’d be lying

9.) What is your opinion of today's scene compared to our mighty scene of the 80's and 90's?

I think today’s scene is rich in new talent and new ideas… I can’t really compare it with the bands of the 80s/90s, althoough the influence of early bands like Bathory, Venom, hellhammer is certainly more clearly evident in influences, more so than maybe 5 years ago, and especially in very Young bands… we have a great young band called Necronimic, from puerto Rico, that pays homage to Bathory…the 80s /90s was new, a spawningan awakening , those moments Will never be recaptured, that energy, innocence, the hatred, the church burnings…Good times…..

Obviously the diversity in genre is much bigger now, it has of course evolved over time into many different branches of the same original solid trunk…. Evolution is natural, the genre must evolve or it will die. Judging by the wealth of talent in today’s new bands.. I can confidently say that the future is in safe hands

10.) If there was one band you could collaborate with who would it be and why?

That’s another tricky one Namtar….

Ha.. yes… you and your band hahaha we’ve been talking about for sooo long and never got shit done hahaha… Let’s get that sorted asap

10.) Do you have anything else you would like to say to your fans and supporters, any words of wisdom, or anyone else you would like to mention here?

Thanks to everyone that has taken the time to listen to our music and written us and bought our music, and to everyone that has supported us. Literally, no words. Thanks and hail to the hordes!

I would like to add that I'm glad we do so much together, we've built a pretty concrete friendship and I value that greatly, I have the utmost respect for you and all of your dealings with your band and label. Hails brother

Likewise my friend… To unholy alliances!!666                                                                                           The Witch Links                                                                                                                                            https://thewitch1.bandcamp.com/                                                                                                                https://www.facebook.com/people/The-Witch/100063821385055/                                                            https://www.youtube.com/@thewitch5135/videos                                                                                      Masters Of Kaos Prod.                                                                                                                                   https://theblackwitch056.wixsite.com/mastersofkaos/shop                                                                           https://mastersofkaos.bandcamp.com/                                                                                                           https://www.facebook.com/people/Masters-Of-Kaos-Productions/100083264766354/                              https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJ5mrPBaMgDuGn71cyYWpbw

Petit Nuage Noir--Among The Graves cassette, digital{Planetary King Rec.} done on 4-23-23

Among The Graves is the debut release from Poland's  Petit Nuage Noir. Each of the seven tracks featured on the debut are well crafted and executed.Musically the band performs a mix of fast paced black metal that is delievered with intensity. The musicians do slow to a more mid paced calm style throughout the songs. The vocals are traditional raw black metal screams that are very well done.In one of the songs their are a few lines of clean vocal passages that are done extremly well sung.Among The Graves is a excellent debut featuring seven songs of quality black metal that is highly recomended.         Planetary King Rec.                                                                                                                                      https://planetarykingrecords.bandcamp.com/album/among-the-graves                                                        https://www.facebook.com/PlanetaryKing

Moribundus Christus interview done by Namtar posted on 4-20-23

This is Namtar Axarcuth reporting from Philadelphia PA, today we are speaking with Yaotzin and I Misanthrope from Moribundus Christus

1.) When was Moribundus Christus conceived and what was the ideology behind the band?

IM: We started in 2016 after talking about getting together and making some really ferocious and angry black metal. Overall, we hate religion and every other controlling system in general. Anything or anyone that says, "You can't do you", we are dead set on destroying them.

Yaotizin: We started in 2016 with the vision of all out

Warfare against the stagnation of Black Metal

As in that time things were getting stale and

No one was really in our opinon producing real hate driven black metal.

2.) Your first release Hostile was pure chaotic black metal unlike anything else I have ever heard along with your new single Ruins Of Sanity, will the band continue to bring this style of pure chaotic black metal?

IM: Most definitely! We started with The Morbid Cult EP in 2017 basically proving we could play good, raw, angry black metal. When we started writing Hostile in 2019, we wanted to push the envelope into full-blown chaos and keep going with that while at the same time keeping it black metal. I first did vocals on the single "Wrath of Hell", and I definitely strive on each track to bring forth pure unbridled fury.

Yaotizin: Hostile was a big step forward for us in our vision for Moribundus christus. We just threw all caution and fucks to the wind and created hateful art

Fulfilling for the time being the vitriol and untamed fury and anger inside us.

The next album will be another envelope push in our style to create more of a hate filled maelstrom of destruction and darkness.

3.)What is the content of your lyrics, and do they relate to each other song by song?

IM: Most everything is either angry, satanic, or anti-religious, but I have started writing some lyrics for MC. I tend to get psychological with my lyrics while also explaining what lead me to get there. "The Ruins of Sanity" goes through all the controlling bullshit we are fed by every aspect of society and culminates in the conclusion that the human race should be destroyed because we're all full of shit. We're never going to see eye to eye because of controlling and divisive power structures, so we should just destroy it all.

4.) Both of you Yaotzin and I misathrope are involved in many projects ,would you like to tell us what they are and how each band differs?

IM: I have my solo project, I, Misanthrope, which is usually lyrically psychological and musically dark and experimental. I try not to pigeonhole the genre on it, and depending on who I'm working with, the music can get very experimental. My latest album Wilt has some black/death metal elements in it, but there is a LOT of goth and death rock on it. The guitar parts were actually some of my very first recordings when I started Quietus in 2000. The other project I have is BloodSong, and it's purely Glenn Danzig-era Misfits and Samhain worship. I wanted to continue where those bands left off, which is something I wanted to do since I was a teenager. I released (digitally and for free under the Fair Use Act of 1976 - I don't want to get sued) "Initium Meets Earth AD" in late 2021/early 2022. It was based on an idea presented by YouTuber Frumess, and did some episodes showcasing it. Both BloodSong and I, Misanthrope are on Bandcamp.

Yaotizin: I do another black metal project since 2001 called Blaspherion. Which is more raw grim black metal

And has a few releases out via Plague Demon records.

Also I play guitar in the death metal band

CRANIAL IMPALEMENT who just had rereleased a

2013 studio recording album via Plague demon records.

5.) What are some of your main musical influences for this band?

IM: Mayhem, Sarcofago, early Morbid Angel, DarkThrone, Abigor, Full of Hell, Bestial Warlust, Blasphemy - chaotic blackened grind!

Yaotizin: Impiety, Anaal Nathrakh, December Wolves

The Dillinger Escape plan, Skinny Puppy, Enslaved..

I could keep going.

6.) What is the next move for Moribundus Christus? Do you have any upcoming releases you would like to discuss?

IM: We just released the completed version of "The Ruins of Sanity" - the instrumental was on a US/Indonesian black metal comp from last year. We are currently working on a new album called Apocalyptic Extermination Protocol, which is promising to be just as uncompromising and chaotic

7.) Yaotzin you live in Chattanooga Tennessee,What is the metal scene like there?

Yaotizin: It's slowly growing with new talent.

8.) What is your overall opinion of today's metal scene? Do you think it's become stagnant or are you hearing alot of good metal coming out these days?

IM: Definitely a mixed bag. This tends to happen when there's a LOT of different artists out there, but that being said there are some great metal musicians and bands out there. I say if you have the drive, make the art - fuck what everyone else thinks. You do it for you.

9.)Do you have any plans of touring or playing shows in the future or will you remain a studio band?

IM: We are definitely considering a one-off show in the future. If that goes well, we will do more, but they will be few and far between.

10.) Do you have anything else you would like to say? Any words of wisdom for new bands? Or anyone you would like to thank?

IM: I want to thank all the bands, labels, and fans that have supported us over the years - you know who you are! Again, if you have the drive and vision, do whatever you can to make the art

I would like to add that I'm very happy to have the pleasure of releasing all of your bands on my lable Plague Demon Records, We have been friends a long time and I support you both in all you do, Keep the chaos coming , stay vicious and Hails to both of my warbrothers!                                                         Moribundus Christus                                                                                                                                    https://moribunduschristus.bandcamp.com/                                                                                                https://www.facebook.com/moribunduschristus/                                                                                        Plague Demon Rec.                                                                                                                                       https://plaguedemonrecords.storenvy.com/                                                                                                  https://plaguedemonrecords.bandcamp.com/music                                                                                     https://www.facebook.com/Plaguedemonrecords.net/                                                                                  https://www.instagram.com/namtar.axarcuth/?hl=en                                                                                  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt4Jqad8hAHPHisR2aU4Q4A

Niohoggr interview done by Namtar Posted on 4-16-23

This is Namtar Axarcuth of Plague Demon Records and Namtaru reporting from Philadelphia PA, today I'm interviewing my war brother and good friend MEMPHIST from the brutal black metal band from Puerto Rico Niohoggr

1.) What was the beginning of Niohoggr like for you and what are some of the concepts you base your music on?

-Greetings Namtar Axarcuth of Plague Demon Records and thanks for the brutal opportunity of been part of this unholy interview..

I began the concept of Niohoggr around the 2008.

Most strong part of the full concept I want it to spread was and is the self on people. Awake the warrior mature essence and indeed knowledge of occult ways. The ground of paganism; in my case the Norse ways within Niohoggr. Nether less the Ax upon the Christian religion is a strong concept in most songs. Antichristian concept in other words and more insight views of honor and individuality in each one.

After I began Niohoggr in Puerto Rico, my home of birth I moved to New Jersey and began a more official creation of the songs more solid. After the Formation of more materials I Came back to Puerto Rico. And that was when things became more vivid. I was interested in the more raw black metal but entwined with some progressive composition.

2.) What is the meaning behind the name Niohoggr and what does it mean to you?

Niohoggr; the dragon who is in the roots of Yggdrasil or the world tree in the Nordic sagas. Niohoggr is the one who is in charge of Nastrod or a part of Hel. The afterlife reign for dishonorable people, murderers, oath breakers without honor, assassins… a realm were the coward and piece of shit people goes to pay their cowarness. And in Nastrod, Niohoggr eate their souls again and again. Niohoggr is the reaper of worthless souls

.I feel real connected and identify with this deity for my ways of seeing things and what I believe. I respect Niohoggr and indeed his power. That entwined of power and self-honor I made it reflect in all the band works.

3. What are your future plans for the band? Do you think you will stay a one man band? Or will you search for session live members or possibly a full lineup?

The concept of be a One man Band it makes me whole in all ways. Even so that at the beginning I had members and yes, I did live shows with full lineups which I’m pleased of their fulllfileness,

I keep been One Man Band. My concepts and ideals with Niohoggr and my music are strict. I have patience but not enough to waste time with incompetent musicians. I like to be in set, no matter when or how soon I release my works or do. Same reason I created Somberwolf Legions; my underground Black metal label.

4.) What year did you start the band?

2008- 2009

5.) How do you feel about the scene from the time you started the band up to the present time, do you think it has improved or declined?

I respect the bands from my time and indeed the present bands. Even so I consider that the bands from my time and before had their unique impact and with no doubt shaped todays bands.

6.) Now that you left Puerto Rico and moved to the USA what kind of impact ,good or bad,has it had on your music if any, or even on your outlook on life?

A big and good outstanding impact and difference out of PR. Even so with the good talents of bands from PR. The environment and support, especially for Black Metal is poor and limited. In my opinion and experience leave PR to follow my underground black metal trajectory was the best option and path i did.

7.) Do you ever think about touring in the future?

To be honest I don’t have any plans of lives or touring. So far my next chapter will be to begin the path of the new album “Thee Awakening”

8.) How many releases do you have currently and do you care to name them?

I have accomplished several albums. The band began in the 2008. Then since the 2012 I began to record Niohoggr music personally without releasing anything officially.

-Thy Reckoning of thy Elders” - 2017

-Berserker - 2018

-Wrath of thy Seidmadr - 2020

-Heathen Arcana - 2022

-Ulvekriger - 2022

-In a dark misanthropic Devotion – 2023

9.) What are some of Niohoggr's main influences?

Niohoggr main influences were Dark Funeral, Gorgoroth and old Dimmuborgir.

10.) When should we expect the next new release by Niohoggr?

If everything keeps on the path it should be for May 2023.

11.) I know you're involved in quite a few projects do you wish to name them and what are the differences between each band?

Indeed my infernal brother. I create Niohoggr and in 2020 Amock. This second band I shaped with a more raw Black Metal sound, more offensive and extreme against Christianity. The concepts are Misanthropy, Antichristian and Satanism. And i have the unholy union of been part the Black metal band of "Angra" my wife called Angrbodas Curse.

12.) Do you have anything else you wish to say, anyone you want to thank, or just some words of wisdom for other bands or fans of your music?

I want to thanks Julian Lopez from Underground Florida for the unbreakable support to Niohoggr since the very own beguining of the band. Patrick Schroeder from Violent demise web-zine for been loyal and brutal with his mercy less and unholy reviews to Niohoggr. Jay Parker from Masters of Kaos for the unholy support to Niohoggr and Amock in spreading the bands globally.Hails brother demon,

Lawrence Wallace interview done by Namtar posted on 4-14-23

This is Namtar Axarcuth hailing from Philadelphia PA, today we will be speaking with guitar god Lawrence Wallace, ex Shadows In The Crypt, ex Serpent Ov Old and his own band Lawrence Wallace

1.) Hails Lawrence, I would like to start by asking how long you have been playing guitar and how often did you practice when you started out and do you still practice as much as you did back then?

I started playing when I was 16 at around 2001. I played literally every single day, sometimes all day long for a couple of years. I still try to play every day but some days I am too busy. I probably devote about 4 or 5 week days to the guitar these days. It depends on how busy I am.

2.) You are a one in a billion type of guitarist, did you take lessons and if so for how long and with who?

Yes I did. I took lessons at a local music store by a teacher named Tom Taylor when I started. Tom didn’t play heavy metal though so I had to move on to someone else in order to learn what I was more interested in so I took lessons from a couple other teachers after that. A few of which are Ernie Carletti, Chris Gordon, and Greg Howe (shrapnel records).

3.) Do you consider yourself as great of a guitar player as everyone else does? You seem like such a humble guy so when answering this question don't feel like there is some sort of ego in your answer.

I do recognize talent in what I do but I also know that we kind of just get what we get in this world.I consider my abilities to be a privilege that I am grateful for because I could just as easily have not been talented at all. The world is also a very big place so there are a lot of great players out there. But yes I do notice my skills and am very happy that I have them. It took a lot of practice as well.

4.)What are some of your favorite scales to use?

I use mostly regular diatonic scales, sometimes Phrygian dominant, and diminished arpeggios, and of course pentatonic scales. Whole tone scales and augmented arpeggios are probably the most outside the box stuff I use. I don’t care much for stuff like melodic minor or gypsy scales etc. I just stick to more basic stuff, unless I hear something that really catches my attention. Those exotic scales are sometimes hard to be creative with.

5.)Do you pay attention to new bands coming out today and if so what are your thoughts on what's being released today compared to the golden days of metal?

There is definitely a lot of different stuff coming out. I actually haven’t kept track though lately. I do like a lot of newer stuff but the older stuff always brings me back. I appreciate both old and new metal. I do think some stuff is sort of overdone though.

6.) Who are your top 5 guitar influences?

I would probably have to say Michael Angelo Batio, Vinnie Moore, Alex Skolnick , Paul Gilbert and yngwie Malmsteen

7.) Who are some of your favorite bands?

I really like a lot of different stuff… early children of bodom, Arch Enemy, Killswitch Engage, Iced Earth, and some more extreme stuff like Emperor, Morbid Angel, Darkthrone just to name some of them.

8.) I know years ago you played out live with some of your previous bands, is this something you would consider again in the future? Or are you content with just recording these days? Definitely. I enjoyed playing live a lot and would definitely do it again. I am jamming with some guys right now that are about to start booking shows soon.

9.) Do you have anything you would like to add to this interview, to your fans, or to anyone else you can think of? Absolutely. Thanks so much for this interview. I really appreciate all of it. I have a new EP coming out on April 28th and I have all of my music up on Bandcamp.com for free, at

https://lawrencewallaceband.bandcamp.com/ and you can easily add me as a friend on Facebook or instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/lawrencewallace1984/ I also have music on Spotify and other online stores that are easy to find. I definitely appreciate all the support, it means everything! \m/ I am glad we have become friends, we worked on a song together before and are about to work on some of my Namtaru songs together this week which I'm very excited about, I also enjoy your albums and songs very much. Thank you brother for doing this interview and Hails to you! Awesome! Hell yeah I am definitely looking forward to these new song of yours! Thanks once again for the interview! \m/ hails! \m/                                                                                                                                                        Lawrence Wallace links                                                                                                                                 https://lawrencewallaceband.bandcamp.com/music                                                                                     https://www.facebook.com/people/Lawrence-Wallace-guitarist/100063498159472/                                   https://lawrencewallace.weebly.com/                                                                                                           https://www.instagram.com/lawrencewallace1984/                                                                                      https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc_-U2aV0evx7aVpUSblnoA?view_as=subscriber

Deceiverion interview conducted by Namtar done on 4-15-23

This is Namtar Axarcuth hailing from Philadelphia PA, today we are speaking with George "Hammerhord" Loveland of Deceiverion, and soon to be with my personal band Namtaru

1.) When was Deceiverion created, and what meaning does that name have for you personally?

1. Deceiverion was created in 2001 by myself, as a way of focusing my energies-mainly my disgust for religion at the time and my ongoing hatred for humanity in general. Throughout the past twenty years or so, many have come and gone from the lineup which has resulted in 2 eps, 2 7 inch recordings, two demos and two compilation appearances. Not much for twenty years, but I prefer these days to be satisfied with everything I do. Plus I have also been involved with Crucifier, Invasive Command, Shadows In The Crypt, Annihilist Provisional Disorder, and Serpent Ov Old. Needless to say, I was busy, but recently I have stepped back from a lot of those projects to focus more on the stuff I am most proud to be in.

2.) What is the basis of your lyrical content?

2. Most of the lyrical content on the first EP was eclectic, and it focused more on my personal hatred against Christianity without the whole "satanic" concept-to me, Satanism represents more of the adversarial concept and the antithesis to Christianity, but believing a horned god actually rules an underworld to me these days is idiocy. These days I prefer to concentrate on personal experiences, my thoughts on the world in general, and continue my disdain for the modern human being, whose stifled development and sheep like behavior are the reasons we cannot grow as a species. I use the deathrune to represent the very thing it is supposed to represent-death, destruction, hatred. Recently this symbol has come under fire for being associated with political themes and my lyrical and musical concepts have nothing to do with any of it.

3.) What are some of your main influences, bands that made you want to do what you are doing?

3. Most of the old school black metal from the 80's, along with a few select of the second wave of black metal, mainly Norway. The problem with that back in the day though was the whole "anti Norweigan" wave of bands coming out when I started that really gained a lot of momentum. You can hear the influences more on the latter stuff, but the first recording kinda got compared to old school GBK, because Cazz Grant was the first drummer on the first EP and the Despondent 7''. For The Separation, I tried to be as varied as possible, but the old influences are still present and I'm proud to showcase what influenced me. Most of my melodic and harmonic influences are based more from old school Emperor and Satyricon than anything else.

4.)How do you compare today's scene with the amazing scene of the 80's , 90's and early 2000's , do you think its getting better or worse?

4. I guess it depends on one's perception. Me personally, I see the "scene" as a dead and decaying corpse of what it used to be, and there are many factors involved. The new "underground" is a farce of what it used to be-this form of expression to me is not about holding hands and singing Kumbya, and the ones trying to weaken it and make it more "inclusive" so to speak are nothing more than weakened sheep looking for acceptance because they cannot find it anywhere else. I despise bands that wanna take the very core of black metal and make it g rated. The true underground will always remain and there will always be people that despise it.

5.) I know Deceiverion has taken a break for now, do you plan to revive it in the near future?

5. There are plans to do so once I am ready. One of the main reasons I took a break from music is to work on my personal life and my relationship with my fiancee, as well as having to find a new job after being employed for a place for 9 years that basically threw me out like trash. Last year was a struggle for me both financially and personally and the last thing I needed to deal with was drama in the music world. This was once of the main reasons I left Serpent Ov Old, and decided to keep focus on the projects that I can keep focus on. As of now, I have Deceiverion, Annihilist Provisional Disorder, and have recently gotten involved with Namtaru.Deceiverion is myself and Chris Chamberlin at the moment, Annihilist Provisional Disorder is myself and an old Deceiverion bandmate that left before recording-this is mainly dark ambient and noise with black metal.

6.) You will be joining me, Lawrence Wallace and Ben "Daimon" Fahy in Namtaru, how do you feel about this, I know I'm quite excited for all of us to get together , what are your feelings on this?

6. It's an honor to be playing with black metal legends, alongside Chris Chamberlin of course. I'm excited to see where the new chapter of Namtaru takes us. The new Namtaru should be quite interesting.

7.) Do you see alot of good bands that stand out on their own emerging in the underground? Or are you seeing alot of repeats of things that have been done previously?

7. Most of the newer stuff is stagnant, and it's completely void of feeling. I am very picky when it comes to listening habits, most of the time I will put something old on and just jam out. My friend Mikael from Night Conquers Day/Tearstained hosts an internet podcast that has a lot of obscure 80s stuff that I check out from time to time. There are a few bands that I have checked out recently that sound good, but I still prefer the older stuff-especially 80's, 90's and early 2000's. Those who know me know what I like. But I will say this, the new Destroyer 666 album is good from top to bottom

8.) If you could sum up Deceiverion in 5 words what would they be?

8. Individualistic hateful black metal misanthropy.

9.)Today there are alot of kids who have no clue what our scene is about, it seems like they're in some kind of funderground fashion show , what if anything do you say to these people?

9. Very simple. If you are into something, be into it for the right reasons and not just because you want to belong. Black metal has always been the expression I have chosen because it is more like therapy to me than anything else. Black metal is not fashion, and neither is the underground. I'm sick and tired of those that wanna rape this form of expression and try to incorporate life affirming idealogies. It's better to be hated for what you are instead of being loved for what you are not. The Separation is the biggest example of how I feel towards today's "scene". The misanthrope is one that does not accept humanity as a whole and black metal is the expression of the misanthrope. Anything else is false.

10.) Are you into any occult studies or practices? I find alot of bands can't get past the preschool stage of satanic lyrics, there's a whole lot more to the world of the occult and very few of us can find the obscure occult practices!

10. I do own a few books that touch on the essence of a few practices, but I myself do not practice any occultic rituals or pretend to have knowledge of the occult. I do believe that there is a force of nature itself, but it is not meant to be understood or harnessed by man for personal gain. It is simply meant to be enjoyed since our time here is short.

11.) Do you have anything else you would like to add, or anyone you wish to address?

11. Hails and thanks for the interview! Before I end this, I would like to give best wishes to Brian Deal in his new venture Distant Dominion. His drumming on The Separation is the best and I wish him good luck in everything he does. Also hails to Chris Chamberlin, soon we will resurrect this beast once again, I promise. To my new Namtaru bandmates, let us bring forth the apocalypse! And finally, new Annihilist Provisonal Disorder stuff coming, when it is ready! Also, prepare for old Invasive Command material to be resurrected through Plague Demon Records coming soon!                                                   https://deceiverion.bandcamp.com/                                                                                                              https://annihilistprovisionaldisorder.bandcamp.com/                                                                                  https://invasivecommand.bandcamp.com/album/ride-invade-kill-conquer

Hisemtuks Himi N interview done by Namtaru Posted on 4-14-23

This is Namtaru Axarcuth hailing from Philadelphia PA. today we will speak with Ehli from the band Hisemtuks Himi N

from Washington State

1.) How did you come up with the name of the band and what does the name mean to you?

1.) So, I am part Native American, I have Spokane and Nez Perce ancestry. I wanted a band name that was original and rooted into my heritage so then I looked into it and thought very hard for a band name. So then I came up with Hísemtuks Hími•n (pronounced: hi-sum-tuks he-mi-n). It is originally in the Nez Perce language, translated into English is Night-sun Wolf.

2.) You were one of the youngest artists on my label and when you first reached out to me , I remember you having a different band name at the time, what was that name and what made you change it?

2) The old band name was called Frozen Sin. The reason why I changed it is because It was going for more atmospheric black metal direction and when I would listen to the black metal bands on bandcamp, it seemed like every other black metal band had the “atmospheric black metal” tag at the time and I wanted to be a little different from those black metal bands. So then I changed the music into a more melodic/symphonic and left the “atmospheric black metal” train and changed the name that was more relevant to the music and lyrics

3.) At the time I signed you, I believe you were one of the only bands I knew of with a Native American theme to all of your music, to me you were the first band to do this, now it seems alot of other bands have jumped on the band wagon, do you feel you started a trend that many are now following?

3) No, not really. I feel that the bands that started the band wagon was Pan-Amerikan Native Front and Nechochwen. But did notice that a lot of bands are doing that now and its almost turning into a whole other sub-genre now. Most of the lyrics that I write are about the Pacific Northwest tribe’s history and stories while most of the other bands are sticking to there own roots. I think it is very interesting!

4.) Do you have any plans for a new album this year?

4) Yes sir! Super excited to get this album finished! Right now, I am writing lyrics to the songs for the album. Its going to be very interesting so stay tuned!

5 ) I know you're a one man band, but would you consider having a full lineup and do some touring in the future?

5) I actually had a line up going for a minute but because of the timeframe it didn’t work out. Its funny you asked about live shows, because I was just talking with a buddy of mine about playing live shows by myself and I'm thinking real hard about it, but we will have to see in the future.

6.) I know on your last album you recorded all music ,mixed and mastered it yourself,is this something you will continue to do?

6) Well, the guy that mixed and mastered Wendigo was going to mix and master the last album. I have no idea what happened with him so I had to mix it myself. It doesn’t sound great but who cares, this is BLACK METAL! Hopefully, sooner then later, I can find someone to mix and master the next album.

7.) What is the current scene like where you reside?

7) Honestly, there’s not a lot of black metal bands where I'm at and most of them are one man projects too. I feel that Spokane has a lot more metal-core and punk bands then anything. Most of the Black Metal bands that come from Washington come from Seattle only because its a way bigger city and has a way bigger scene then Spokane.

8.) What are some of your musical influences?

8) I have to say that my biggest influence is Catamenia (early), Dissection, Vinterland, and Death! I discovered these bands when i was in middle school and haven’t stopped listening since then. I really love the beautiful melody with the mix of the harsh rawness that these bands have. Whenever i run out of ideas i will listen to music that is outside of metal and play guitar to see what happens.

9.) Do you feel the scene today is good or is it lacking that old metal spirit?

9) I feel like both, covid had everything messed up, but I think now that bands can play concerts now the metal spirit will eventually come back bigger then ever. Tension is high!

10.) Do you have anything else you would like to say to fans, friends or any other topics you wanna touch on?

10) I am thankful for all the support from the fans and friends! I want to also thank you and Chuck Manganiello from BCHRecords for making things happen! Keep them horns up

I just wanted to say I’m glad we are good friends, I always believed in your music and I appreciated how much you believed in my label from the very beginning , I still remember the first time you wrote me saying “I want to be on your label” that spoke to me in many ways.
