Interview with Goat Disciple done by Patrick
1.Hails please introduce yourself to the readers? When did you first start listing to war blackend death metal?
I am R. Sodomizer, guitars, for Goat Disciple.
When I was about 16 I started hanging out at the local underground music shop we had out here and eventually started working there. That is how I found the music I love today...
2.Who were the first bands you listened to and who are some of the current bands you listen to?
The first bands that got me into what i Iove now would have to be all the godfathers Blasphemy, Order From Chaos, Angelcorpse, Diocletian, Destroyer 666 and from there I found Katharsis, Demoncy, Kerasphorus, Drudkh, Nocturnal Blood/The Haunting Presence, Hate Forest etc...
3.When did you first get the idea to start this band? And what is the current line up for Goat Disciple?
The idea for Goat started when a previous band of mine and K.H.'s went on hiatus and I wanted to continue doing what we were doing but more the way I always wanted the band to go. I wrote a handful of songs and we got Thanatos on drums and it took off...
We have gone through a change in drummers and added a 2nd guitarist to the fold. R. Sodomizer (guitar/back up vocals) K. Heretic (bass) A. Mire (vocals) Danzer616 (guitar) and D. (Drums)
4.For the readers who have not heard Goat Disciple's music how would you best describe it? And who would you say are the bands biggest influences?
Goat Disciple is a meshing of all of our favorite styles Black/Death/War/Thrash/Doom. Some of my own main influences are Diocletian, Nocturnal Blood/The Haunting Presence, Demoncy, Destroyer 666, Katharsis and so on...
5.Wolfcult Domination is the bands debut EP. how long did it take the band to write the music for the debut?
We have been jamming for years. We ended up picking 4 songs, out of about 11, that we saw fit and that we thought would represent well what our first full length release will sound like.
6.Has Goat Disciple played live yet or do you all prefer to stay a studio only band?
Yes we have. Four shows so far: Archgoat, Antichrist, Hades Archer, and Impiety are who we've gotten to open for. We look forward to playing many more shows with bands that we love and have influenced us...
7.Are their any shows planned in support of the debut coming up? If yes where will the band be playing and who are some bands you will be sharing the stage with?
One show booked for 2018 as of right now. July 11th in Salt Lake City we will be playing with Mortuary Drape and Volahn.
8.Has the band started working on new music for the next release? How long does it usually take the band to complete one song?
We have a lot of songs written but not much tight right now, as we've gone through a change in line up. So a new drummer has been learning all our material. We have plans of hitting the studio to start on our first full length winter of 2018
9.Besides the upcoming debut EP. does the band have any other merchandise available for the readers? If yes what is available and where can the readers buy it?
We are planning on having shirts, patches, stickers, and pins made to go along with the vinyl, cd, and cassette versions of the e.p.. All will be available on our bandcamp page.
10.What does underground metal mean to you?
Freedom.
11.Besides working in Goat Disciple do you or any of the members currently work in any other bands or solo projects?
I, (R.S.) have one other active project called Winterlore. Myself and K.H. were in Iconoclast
Contra and Disannulleth together. Thanatos has been playing in Dwellers for many years. Our newest edition to the line up Danzer616(guitars) has his main band Envenom and too many others to mention. (He's a slut) but we all have many past bands that we've all been a part of and or sessioned for. These would just be some of the main ones for us.
12.Thank you for taking the time to fill this interview out do you have any final comments for the readers?
"You either get it or you don't"
